To Be a Christian Steward
Why I contribute to the CFA….With one pledge and donation, I can support a range of Catholic ministries and outreach programs, including Catholic Education, Faith Formation and Evangelization. The CFA also supports a Peace & Social Justice Office and a Respect Life Office, which promote Catholic values for public policies and legislation.
We’re almost halfway to our goal! As of May 17, you’ve pledged $94,578.15, or 42.4% of our 2019 target ($223,000). Almost 20% of our registered households have participated so far. Thank you for your pledges and contributions that support ministries in our ten-county diocese.
Pledge/donation envelopes are found in the pews, or donations can be made online at www.dioceseofvenice.org. Be sure to indicate Our Lady Queen of Martyrs as your parish.
A Summary of the U.S. Bishops’ Pastoral Letter on Stewardship
“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Pt 4:10).
What identifies a steward? Safeguarding material and human resources and using them responsibly are one answer; so is generous giving of time, talent, and treasure. But being a Christian steward means more. As Christian stewards, we receive God’s gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them lovingly in justice with others, and return them with increase to the Lord. http://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachings/what-we-believe/stewardship/
